Eating out in Dunsborough

In the Dunsborough area there are dozens of restaurants, wineries and cafes where you can indulge your taste for excellent cuisine, try something new and exotic – or if you prefer you can always get a burger, pizza, sushi or good old fish and chips.

Unlike other places in the world a majority of our wineries offer wonderful food ranging from casual platters to world class meals.

In the town centre Enjoia Restaurant, Seymour Place, Dunn Bay Rd, Dunsborough is a casual inexpensive place to eat doing good Italian food and pizzas.

Relish Cafe is a short drive out of town. A lovely stone building in a bushland setting. It is fully licensed and does great Italian food.

A favourite of ours is Bunker Bay Cafe.We always enjoy the tasting plate and last time we ate there the Garfish and chips were absolutely scrumptious. It is a good spot to call in for a coffee after a swim at Bunkers Bay. It is also open for breakfast and lunch and the menu changes regularly. It is just a fabulous location to sit and enjoy our beautiful coast.

The Pour House Bar and Kitchen is right in the centre of town in Dunn Bay Rd. It offers a dining and bar area at street level and a burger and bar area upstairs. It is very pleasant to sit on the shaded balcony and watch the world pass by. The burger was great and the Pulled Pork Sandwich was as good as the ones sampled in the USA a few months ago. Downstairs there are more than 70 local and international beers and a big range of ciders as well as an extensive wine list.

A few doors down the road The Bay St Cafe is a very pleasant place for breakfast, a good coffee. The light Asian dishes are a great lunch choice.

Tealicious House , Naturaliste Tce – again in the centre of town is open 7 days and has great teas, coffee and food.

Goanna Gallery, off Commonage Rd,  is just a 10 minute drive from Dunsborough. It is well worth the drive to enjoy the fabulous cakes on offer. Stop by for a coffee or enjoy a breakfast or lunch in the natural bush setting.

Drive out to Metricup Rd, Wilyabrup to and enjoy a coffee and cake or a meal at Woody Nook Cafe.

Cheffy’s at Surfside, Yallingup for great burger and casual meal and enjoy the wonderful scenic Yallingup beaches

Artezen Expresso Bar, next to ANZ Bank, Naturaliste Tce does a good coffee.

 Across the road Yallingup Coffee Roasting Co roasts its own coffee. It is a very pleasant experience to sit outside under the trees and watch all the visitors wander around the town.

Amigos Mexican Restaurant offers terrific Mexican food at very reasonable prices.

Peko Peko  offer a great range of sushi, dipping sauces and rice paper rolls. Hot wok noodles are made from 4p.m.  It is open for lunch and dinner and also does take away.

Take a drive to Petra Olive Oil on Sheok Dr and enjoy the lovely setting. Great olive oil produce is available and tasting is a must. We love the Kasaundi Pickle and the Dried Tomato Tapenade. Be sure to sample the olive oils, balsamic oils and salad dressings. The skin products, moisturisers and creams are a very popular. A range of Bruschettas and salads are available for a light lunch. Kids pizzas keep the little ones happy. Cake and coffee can be enjoyed any time of the day. BYO wine.

The Family Bistro at the Dunsborough Tavern offers good pub food. The Veal Parmagina  is recommended and good value. A play area will keep the kids amused while you enjoy a beer and a meal.

Hot Chocolatte is next to the tavern in Naturaliste Shopping Centre for great hot chocolate and coffees as well as milkshakes, smoothies and ice creams.

Thai Papaya also in the Naturaliste Shopping Centre is open for dinner 7 nights a week and lunches Wednesday to Saturday or just grab a Take-Away. All the Thai favourites are available, noodle dishes including Pad Thai and curries Red Curry, Panang Curry, Masamun Curry and Green Curry are recommended.

The Big Pig is ideally located in Naturaliste Shopping Centre. Pick up a take-away Pizza.

A great way to spend a hot summer evening is to wander down near the Old Dunsborough Boat Ramp on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 5.00p.m. -7.00p.m. and visit the Spice Odysee caravan.  Indian food is available at a very reasonable price. Take a bottle of wine, sit on the foreshore and enjoy a great meal and an amazing view. Our favourites are the Samosas, Tandoori Butter Chicken and the Lamb Korma.

Evviva Cafe in Naturaliste Tce, does All Day Breakfasts, fresh juices and lunches. It is great to sit here and watch the world go by.

The Studio Bistro combines food and art. It displays a varied collection of works including painting, photography, jewellery, ceramics and wood. A world class bistro and very pleasant surroundings, situated off Caves Rd, Yallingup.

SquidLips Fish and Chips Dunn Bay Rd are rated in Top 5 Fish’n’Chips in WA. Try their famous squid as well as the fish and chips. Gourmet salads are available

Ollio Bello, Cowaramup is a pretty drive from Dunsborough and is well worth a visit. Sample olive oils –both plain and infused, tapenades and interesting  gourmet deli lines.  Grab a handful of bread and start tasting. Try the Mandarin and Fig Chutney -delicious. Organic beauty and skin care products are highly recommended. 

Enjoy a tasty lunch at the cafe (open from 10a.m. – 4.30p.m). The pasta is freshly made every day and the pizzas are very tasty. The dishes all draw on the range of oils in some way or other.
