Leisure Activities

Dunsborough is a very popular holiday destination and, apart from the outstanding beaches, fishing, surfing spots, wineries, restaurants, breweries and galleries, it has wonderful amenities for those who like the outdoor activities.

Dunsborough and Districts Country Club

The Dunsborough Club (as it is locally known) has recently been upgraded and the facilities are amongst the best in the South West. The Club has lawn bowls (the lawn was recently replaced with carpet), tennis, golf and croquet, as well as hosting bridge days, mah-jong, darts and other indoor entertainment.

Besides the various sports the modern clubhouse facility is available for hire for weddings, meetings, social events, conventions and sporting activities. Facilities are available when not being used for club activities.

The Club hosts a Friday night dinner that is very popular and bookings are essential.

Golf

A popular, 18-hole Championship Golf Course, forms the entrance to the town. The drive into Dunsborough is picturesque with the lakes of the golf course virtually lining the road.

It is unsurprising that the course is called The Dunsborough Lakes Resort Golf Course, and the course is open to the public.

Sailing

The Dunsborough Bay Yacht Club is a year old and boasts new club facilities that were opened in 2010. Social events are advertised and people are welcome.

The club rooms are along Geographe Bay Road in Quindalup.

Whale Watching

Naturaliste Charters pioneered whale watching in the scenic Dunsborough, Cape Naturaliste, Augusta and Cape Leeuwin regions. The purpose built, luxury, 55 ft vessel “Cetacean Explorer” provides great viewing and comfort for people of all ages.

Naturaliste Charter Eco Tours leave the Geographe Bay Fishermans Boat Ramp in Quindalup to take you on an eco tour of some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. View Meelup beach, Eagle bay and Bunkers Bay before rounding Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and seeing the bird life and seal colony. Continue on past Sugarloaf Rock to Yallingup, then on to Canal Rocks then back to the Quindalup Fishermans Boat Ramp.

Cape Dive – Swan Wreck Recreational Diving

Swan wreck diving is conducted during summer and training schools are conducted for untrained interested divers. The boat departs from the shore along Quindalup so be sure you get to the right place.
