We spent a superb week in Dunsborough for our daughter's wedding. The whole family came over from the UK to enjoy the wedding in Wise winery and also to have a relaxing time enjoying this wonderful region.
We were able to find good accomodation to suit the pockets of all family members and everyone found that self catering was a MUST here to be able to take part in the Australian relaxed way of living. We had barbecues down by the beach and enjoyed watching the sunset as we drank our chilled wine!
Anyone visiting Western Australia from the UK should certainly take the time to drive the short distance from Perth to see the wonderful beaches here and enjoy the Margaret River wine region where you will find great food in many of the restaurants around.
Dunsbourough is certainly a MUST SEE area for everyone!

We were in beautiful Dunsborough when the millenium turned over, 1999 to 2000. We reckoned it was a very special time as many people throughout the ages have seen a century tick over BUT not a lot have seen a millenium tick over.
Dunsborugh is strategically placed as it has an east-coast aspect whereby the sun rises over the ocean and sets over the land. Yallingup, which is 9 kilometeres from Dunsborouggh, is on the west coast - after the coastline turns south around Cape Naturaliste.
Sooo, a small group of us went to Yallingup for a champagne or two, and watched the sun set on 1999.
We then went back to Dunsborough, had a BBQ, celebrated New Year - as you should - then wandered down to the "Old Dunsborough" boat ramp with a bottle of champers and welcomed the sunrise on the New Millenium, 2000.
We had set the alarm to see the dawning of 2000 and while we were watching the sun rise, a young couple were heading home and came to join us.
It was a memorable occasion and we loved it.
